Things you should know about laminate

Most often sought after for its striking resemblance to solid wood flooring, laminate floors can be purchased in both planks and tiles. In these formats, the material can actually take on the look of solid hardwood, ceramic tiles, or all natural stone. Active homeowners who love the look of the real thing, but need something that allows for quick and easy maintenance, often prefer laminate. It’s packed with benefits, too, which means you get more for your budget.

Mr. B’s Flooring offers a wide variety of flooring products and services. From our Spencer, Iowa showroom, we service the areas of Spirit Lake, Hartley, Emmetsburg, Okoboji, and Storm Lake. We’d love it if you stopped in for a visit and allowed up the opportunity toserve you as well. We will work to match you with a perfect floor covering that meets your needs and your every expectation of what a flooring should be, and more.

A few facts about laminate

High density fiberboard (HDF) offers a core that makes laminate a strong and stable flooring in many environments. The image layer, or the part that creates the look of natural materials, is produced through high resolution printing and is so realistic, your guests will never know the difference. What’s more, this material is topped with a melamine wear layer that provides durable protection against many of the things your floors go through on a regular basis.

Even though laminate is made to look like hard surface flooring such as stone and wood, it’s much softer, farmore comfortable to stand and walk on, and even reduces the sounds associated with clicking when walking and pet nails.

This flooring can even go a long way in saving you a bit on your budget. Since it can often be installed without nails or glue, as “floating floor”, installation times and costs will be reduced. You’ll even be able to walk on these floors right away. What’s more, they are easy to keep clean, with only a dust mop or vacuum needed for picking up debris, and a wet mop for cleaning and shine.

Laminate is an excellent choice for any room in your home, from kitchens and bathrooms to playrooms and bedrooms. Since they do not collect dust, dander, or other allergens, they are considered hypoallergenic and makes a great addition to the homes of allergy sufferers.
